Casa Madre manages the Cabella International Sahaja School – an educational project for children aged 6 to 11, founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi.

Shri Mataji always maintained the importance of offering children a balanced education which not only involves intellectual and emotional growth but also takes into account their spiritual well-being. When children become aware of their inner capacities and strengths, they learn to express themselves authentically and it gives them a solid foundation for their future growth.

To instill a sense of self-worth and dignity in children, Shri Mataji attached great value to discipline; a discipline rooted in love and respect. “It is the duty of every Sahaja Yogi to watch over the growth of his children, so that they grow as great personalities, bigger than you,” She said, “they will have to take care of the world.”

By putting Her vision into practice, Shri Mataji created an educational system that revolves around Sahaja Yoga meditation. In addition to following a stimulating school program, CISS students regularly meditate together. This helps them improve their attention and ability to concentrate as well as developing their intuition. It also increases their sense of self-worth and that of others, too, resulting in mutual respect, which is the basis of trust.

For over 30 years, children from many countries in the world have studied in the schools founded by Shri Mataji. Hundreds of children have grown up in these schools in India, the United States, the Czech Republic, Canada, Russia and Australia.

Many of them have gone on to become excellent and respected professionals, teachers, scientists and musicians. These men and women have a great sense of humility but also a profound awareness of their own value and of their responsibilities towards the family, the community and the betterment of the whole world.
